(cue the overdrive and the interstellar vocal.) slovenian-based, us singer, hannah mancini, provides those cosmic vocals, ably recorded by sare havlicek in sunny ljubljan. after a sly re-titling of the track (to avoid confusion with the original the name has been extended to >on a highway to saturn<) its on to the obligatory over-the-top nang remix package...first up is a new version from d-pulse for those long summer nights. their >australian shore reversion< mix slows down the groove to a balmy evening by noosa shores pace. space-rock, guitar solos, smouldering synths and lazy rhythms all combine to make this one for the beach house. sare havlicek adds a couple of mixes of his own. keeping things hi-energy he goes for the disco jugular with his trademark stabby synths and tight production. nang newcomers, proper heat, strip things back and go for a slow-grooving baltic-disco chugger. rounding off the remix package is japanese based jan ken po (aka max essa). he delivers a dance floor friendly version with a big and bold walking bass riff and tasteful synths

after the success of >slow burn< as well as the licensing of >dirt< to mr. ben klocks berghain mix compilation, echologist returns with another slice of psychedelic dub techno with remixes by frances techno king terence fixmer and arguably moscows finest producer, anton zap. the original mix is a slowly builds into a blaze of cavernous chord changes and a 4/4 groove powered by an unelenting sub bass. the distinctive sound of this track is what seperates echologist from all the other dub techno composers out there. terence fixmer takes the elements and transforms them into his signature techno workout that packs as much punch as it does finesse while anton zap strips things down and builds a super spacious hypnotic house groove that has become a trademark of his ethereal sound. all round another essential release from echologist.

australian producer philip mcgarva aka microworld is well known for his releases on transmat and styrax, both of which instantly became sought-after techno classics. dutch label adepth audio is proud to present microworlds new >time before techno< ep, with the title track another classic in the making.

straight from cologne, we proudly debut with our first release on technology gap 001, with some deep as its gets straight up house music acompaning your personal summer madness. anyone wondering what oliver kochs breitbandkater projects all about need only turn to the eps opening cut, >warm and wet<, wherein the cologne-based producer proclaims, >i want the best for you / so everything i do / is house music.< yep, technology gap 001 is house music all right, and a particularly fine sampling of it too. the aforementioned >warm and wet< immediately declares itself an ep high point the moment its thumping bass pulse kicks in. sleekly designed, the cut begins with a tight minimal swing that swells into a jacking house fireball while serving up six minutes of chunky chords and cracking snares. the second track, >wonder why<, tips the balance in a slightly more soulful deep house direction when monojoe spreads an exuberant vocal ove r breitbandkaters lush backing. warm chords and a sweetly grooving pulse provide a soft cushion for some old-school cymbal patterns and a radiant synth hook in the smooth stormer. adopting a slightly more atmospheric approach, with house group of the hour, morning factory winds up the ep with a trippy remix of >warm and wet< which finds kochs vocal drifting through the slow-building mix in a semi-entranced daze. lovers of classy deep house should no doubt find much to admire about breitbankaters three-tracker. go hunt, its good for you
